MUA Undress Your Skin

MUA Makeup Academy allow us all to indulge in guilt free cosmetics, by keeping the prices low. Looking beautiful on a budget is possible and the items MUA have to offer still feel luxurious, as well as saving us pennies.

Just launched is the 'Undress Your Skin Range' perfect for showcasing a dewy spring complexion and these products are fab for highlighting whats naturally there. The range consists of eyeshadow palettes, Illuminating Foundations, Concealer, Primer & Highlighting Powder.

Be a little braver this year, ditch the full coverage foundation and heavy make up, it's all about less is more, and with these lush highlighting shimmery shades there's really no need to be scared.

I have been reviewing the Highlighting Shimmer Powder, Flawless Skin Primer, Illuminating Concealer & Undress Me Too Palette.

The Highlighting Shimmering Powder is currently on offer at just £2, will usually be £3 so grab it while you can.
This is a baked shimmering powder, and I use it in the corners of my eyes, and on my brow bone to highlight and lift, its also fab as a contouring powder, used on the cheekbones and on the cupids bow. This is a great all rounder and is such a barg, grab it now ladies, you need this is your make up bag!

The Undress Me Too Palette is just £3 at the moment, and it embraces this season’s fresh-faced look and urges you to strip back and go nude!

This fab palette is made up of 12 warm and timeless shades, this palette will suit all skin tones and any occasion. I love these shades and they will be the staple eye product in my upcoming holiday make up bag.

There are pearlescent shades, shimmers, matte and more, these are really suitable for everyone. Create a bang on trend look and update the traditional smokey eye to one of peachy, champagney goodness.

The Flawless Skin Primer is on offer for £3.

And in comparison to some higher end primers this stuff holds up really well.
Gives you a velvety complexion and grips your make up in place all day, it certainly holds up for a day in the office, I am yet to test it in the gym.

The Illuminating Concealer is a brush on creamy concealer. For those of you who suffer with dark circles may not know that your best chance of concealing them is in fact to use a light reflecting product. The way this product works is to add light to the dark areas to allow light to bounce off them and therefore creating the illusion of a lighter complexion.

This swatch shows the un blended product on the left & the blended on the right.
The concealer is just £2, and is a must have for SS13.

What I really love about MUA is the fact that you can fill up your make up bag with the latest in cosmetic trends and it wont cost the earth.

Here is to dewy skin days!

Face B4.. Could this be a revolution for blemish prone skin?

I have always been loyal to Proactiv, and a year down the line since the day I started using it I just don't feel it's working for me anymore. I have been looking to switch up my skincare routine for some time now, so I was really pleased to be sent these products for review.

Having just launched here in the UK yesterday, exclusive to Boots for now, Face B4 promises to bring a revolution to blemish fighting skincare.

The face wash contains the highest percentage of antibacterial fighting ingredients, more than any other face wash brand currently sold here in the UK.

Face B4 is a 2 step system, and the products retail at £14.95 each, so not too pricey, especially if they work.
The face wash is a wash and toner in one, combining the first 2 essential steps to any skincare routine. To me not using a toner after cleansing does feel weird, but hey I will give it a go and let you know what happens. You pump the double nozzle on the face wash to dispense equal amounts of both products, and it forms a lovely foam, you wash your face, leave on the skin for 1 minute & rinse, it does leave your skin feeling squeaky clean without any tightness, or dryness, and it's fragrance free.

My skin has never been sensitive so I cant say how this would react on someone who is sensitive, but due to there being no scent and its antibacterial properties I cant see it being a problem.

Left tube is the face wash & the right is the toner, push the pump to dispense equal amounts of the product to forma gorgeous rich foam.

The 2nd stage of the skincare is the after cleansing serum, a light easily absorbed, fragrance free moisturiser. It leaves your skin feeling soft and is a great primer so is fine to wear under make up. What I really like about this moisturiser is the fact that it has vitamin content, A, B, B5 & E are all present you never get that in a blemish fighting moisturiser, so for me this is a big plus!

I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) in 2011 and fortunately I haven't been plagued with most of the horrible side effects, but blemishes is one I do suffer with and it does get me down, so I am hopeful that this stuff clears my skin.

After studying the ingredients salicylic acid is the magic ingredient I think, but I will be writing a follow up post to this in 4 weeks time to let you know how it has improved or irritated my skin.

I never like to experiment with stuff on my face because the area is always visible so I am hoping that I don't break out badly in the next few days...

If you are keen to check out the Face B4 products then head to Boots.com's Latest Finds Page

Here's to fresh dewy looking skin for spring (hopefully)

Nivea Express Hydration Primer

I remember seeing Nivea in my Nan's bathroom as a young girl, and never really given it much of a thought, a brand thats been around as long as I can remember, people do swear by Nivea but I have always passed it by. Recently though they have launched a product that has taken the beauty world by storm, it's everywhere!
If you still are none the wiser (where the heck have you been?!) let me introduce you to the
 Nivea Express Hydration Primer....

One thing I would like to point out...don't be fooled by the size of the box, the product is just 50ml in size, but at just £4.99 its a total barg.

I am a usually a Benefit Porefessional gal, but at almost £25 for just 30ml of the product this stuff really is a steal at under £5, this is a must have for beauty on a budget.

Available in 2 varieties
'Normal & Combination Skin' and 'Dry & Sensitive Skin', there will be something to suit your skin type, I picked up the normal/combo skin version as I do tend to get a little oily during the day.

Foil sealed so you know it's totally fresh and clean until you open it, being a little obsessive about germs I love that its so securely sealed. The screw top means you wont have any spillages on the move either.

I know some of you don't like scented products, and this stuff does have a fruity smell to it, reminds me of melon, and I love the feeling of it on my face.
It's texture is really thick & creamy, and as it states on the box it's 'effective hydrators' mean that the primer literally melts into your skin in seconds. It leaves your skin feeling super soft and minimises pores, giving you the perfect base for make up.

A little goes a long way this amount covered my whole face, and neck, I will update you all as to how long this lasts as I will be using it everyday. I have been testing this out on a typical day at work, so applying it at 6.30am and removing at around 7pm, so it lasts a good 12 hours, it even makes your eyeshadow stay put as I dabbed a little on my lids too.Really grips on to your foundation and stops it slipping during the day, I do have a tendency to be a little oily and found while wearing this I don't need to top up on powder during the day.

This little pot of primer goodness is currently on offer in Superdrug for just £3.99, so go stock up, I promise you wont regret it.

Seems good old Nivea really pulled it out the bag with this stuff, It's going to be a firm fave in my beauty regime.

Stay gorgeous dolls!

Love
