Maybelline/Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner

It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to liners, the truth is I'm not overly confident when applying it so it has to be easy or I'm not likely to give it a second glance.

I picked this up in Boots recently as it was on offer and I've been using it on nights out since, putting it through it's paces and testing it's staying power. For under £10 the fact it includes a double ended applicator is seriously good value for money to start with, let alone the fact the product is actually pretty good.

The liner is a gel formula making it really easy to apply, it glides and doesn't tug on the delicate eye lid area, I also used mine under my eyes to add some definition. I used the brush end of the applicator as I wanted a really defined effect and it looked great as a base for the strip lashes.

It's smudge proof and Maybelline claim it would last 24 hours, although why you'd ever wear it for that long I'm not sure, I wore mine for 10 hours and it didn't budge or flake.

It comes in a little glass pot with a screw lid so no need to worry about spillages in your make up bag.

Head over to the Boots Website where you can pick up 2 for £10, they usually retail at £7.99 each so that really is a good deal.

Maybelline/Lash Sensational Mascara

When a brand constantly launches new products it does make me question how good the previous offering must have been, but I've been proven wrong this time and I've found a mascara that's actually pretty good for a high street brand at under £10.

Since I got this I've been using it everyday, it holds up from 6.30am until 6.45pm without flaking, smudging or budging.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara* (bit of a mouth full) is the latest addition to the mascara range by Maybelline cosmetics.

The brush is almost a good dupe of the latest release from a more luxury brand, just a bit bigger. The colour pay off is really good, a real black colour and that doesn't dull as the day goes on.
The brush design catches every single hair with it's 10 layer bristles, and the liquid ink formula lifts, curls and coats every lash. It gives great volume without the worry of clumps. And it layers nicely too.

This is my lashes with just one coat on them....
Removal is so easy to it just melts off with an eye make up remover, I am really impressed with this as a day to day product, give it a go if your in the market for a new mascara.

It's on sale in Boots and Superdrug nationwide and is currently on a promotional offer of just £7.99 as part of a 3 for 2 offer or buy one get one half price.

Maybelline/Baby Lips Electro Collection

They're back!
They swept the beauty world by storm last year, the cutesey packaging and the bright colours certainly induce the inner magpie in me, you cant help but be drawn to them.

Meet the Baby Lips Electro Collection *unlike the previous range this one consists of just 4 balms, they promise to keep your lips moisturized for 8 hours whilst adding a neon kick of colour.

They smell absolutely delicious, just like their names in fact so it'll make it easy for you if you don't like a certain smell, personally I'm glad I had the chance to review all 4 because I am terrible when it comes to stuff like this, I just have to have them all.
The formula is creamy and gel like, they glide on like butter, some other bloggers have quoted them as being slimy on the lips but they suit me ok as I don't have very dry skin.
I would say that people with a lighter skin tone and really light lips will get the best results from these but as the colours are so highly pigmented you'll all get a pop of colour from them.
So the colour pay off on these little babies is actually really impressive, the only thing I can see that's really missing is the fact that unlike the previous edition none of them offer any SPF so this wont be one for your beach bag, unless your using it in the evening of course. And as before these do not stay put for 8 hours, I'd say you'd need to reapply regularly and they don't hold up through eating and drinking, but to be fair I cant think of any other lip balm that can, these are perfect for your handbag, your car and your gym bag for on the go pop of coulour and a day to day balm.

The colours swatched on my arm here are, in order from top to bottom:
Strike A Rose, Pink Shock, Oh Orange, and Berry Bomb, I have swatched these all on my lips further on in this post.

Oh Orange is a lovely pastel coral shade on the lips, it looks quite scary in the tube, really bright orange in colour, but as you can see it adds a gentle hue of coral goodness to the lips, there is no shimmer in this and I have only gone over my lips twice with the balm to achieve this colour depth so you could go over a few more times if you wanted them brighter. This one smells of orange funnily enough it's yummy.
Strike A Rose is a baby pink shade, I think this one is really natural and will be best suited to those of you who prefer the more natural look, again this is swatched over twice and you could add more layers for an even stronger colour. Full of the scent of roses this is the ultimate in girliness.
Pink Shock really gives a pop of pink to the lips, I love this one it smells like sweets, this one seems to be really highly pigmented and again after only going over my lips twice I think you could add a few more layers and wear this for a night out instead of a lippie.
Berry Bomb looks really scary in the tube, the dark purple certainly isn't a shade I would run out and buy for fear of looking goth while wearing it, I couldn't have been more wrong, smells like a grape & berry explosion it adds a nice purple hue to the lips, it actually creates a really nice effect.
As always here in the UK we only have 4 of the 6 shades available in this collection, there is no mention of the other 2 being released here yet but I'll keep you updated as soon as I hear otherwise.

If you missed my post featuring the Baby Lips Original review then catch up now.
If you cant wait to get your hand on these then you can shop them online at Boots.com right now, they're on offer for 3 for 2 so you'll be able to grab all 4 for under £10, bargain!

Are you going to treat yourself to these?
Let me know your thoughts on the new arrivals....

Maybelline Baby Skin

It finally here ladies!
First the Baby Lips boom, and now Baby Skin, I LOVE cutesy packaging and this little tube is hard to resist, the sweet pastel colours are gorgeous. I cant stress how much I love the girliness of the Maybelline 'Baby' products, and they really will look fab on any of your dressers, or in your Muji.
I love a good primer and I'm conscious of my pores so anything that targets them is a big plus for me, it's a clear gel formula and it really transforms your skin into silky smooth goodness ready for makeup.

I'm really surprised at how good this stuff actually is,
it provides a kind of blurred effect on pores and imperfections on your face.
If your a fan of Smashbox Photo Finish Primer but you need a dupe, then this is it, for a fraction of the price too, this is just £7.99 a tube.

Are you going to succumb to the latest addition to the family?
If you missed my earlier review on Baby Lips catch up on it here

Maybelline Baby Lips

These balms are apparently a firm fave with beauty editors worldwide, and they go crazy for them across the pond in the US, I'd be very surprised if you haven't seen these yet, finally they've hit the UK shelves.

Maybelline Baby Lips are a range of lip balms in the cutest packaging might I add) designed to tend to your lips every need.
I've managed to get my hands on all 6 and I've been reviewing them for the past week, FYI if you can only treat yourself to one go for Pink Punch, I might be just a little in love with it, it's beautiful!

Three of the balms have SPF 20 and they're not tinted
HYDRATE
a clear base with a lemon basil scent and SPF20
MINT FRESH
a clear base with a mint scent and SPF20
INTENSE CARE
a clear base with a cherry almond scent and SPF20

There are also 3 tinted versions of the balms, to allow you to care for your lips whilst adding a hint of colour

PINK PUNCH
blue-based bright pink base with a passion fruit scent

CHERRY ME
a darker warmer pink base with a cherry scent

PEACH KISS
a sheer nude base with a peach scent

They claim to last 8 hours on the packaging, this I cant really say I agree with.
But one thing I will say is that they are not at all sticky, and although they feel really hard and you'd expect them to drag on the lips they don't! They melt beautifully and feel so comfortable to wear, not to mention the yummy scents! And I have all my make up on show, I think having all 6 stood next to each other look lovely, the neon & pastel combo's have given the tubes a really eye catching design.
The biggest surprise to most of you will be the price, I really was shocked to see them on sale at just £2.99, and if you want to collect your very own then head into Boots or Superdrug NOW they're on 3 for 2 in both stores.

In my opinion these are must have balms, you can have one in your car, on your desk at work, in your handbag, and in your pocket and one in your gym bag, with that in mind you need all 6, right?! The SPF 20 balms would be perfect for summer weather (if the sun ever comes back to us here in the UK) if not then take one tinted one and one clear one on your summer hols, they'll be all the lip protection you'll need for day and night.

I can only live in hope that we'll get the other ranges they sell of these little baby's (see what I did there!) really soon, as always I will keep you updated on that.

Have you succumbed to the Baby Lips trend yet?

Let me know what you think of these super cute cult balms!

Maybelline Volum Express the Mega Plush Mascara

The latest release mascara from Maybelline, their first gel mousse mascara, it's packaging is my fave colour!

As for mega plush lashes...I am not convinced on that one, it really doesn't flake and doesn't leave lashes brittle after application but I didn't feel it gave my lashes much volume.

It is good at leaving lashes clump free and does hold up against panda eyes, but for me it just doesn't make my lashes very full.

It's a good everyday mascara but got a night out I'd go for something a bit more false lashy!

Currently on offer in Boots for just £5.99 it's def worth a try.

Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express Masacara

You'll have no doubt seen the adverts on TV for this mascara, and as a girl on a mission for long lashes I had to try this stuff.

Love the packaging on these Maybelline Mascara's always bright and funky.

The huge brush scared me a little when I got it out the packet, but I am sure you'll agree when its on the lashes its clump free and looks good, I am really pleased with how it enhances the lashes, and this is just one coat, so you girlies who like lashings of mascara on your lashes will get amaze results from a few coats.

I have been testing mine out on a typical work day and I must say it holds up pretty well, no smudging or flaking, so it really is worth investing if you need a new mascara.

It promises to deliver up to 8x more volume, and personally I dont go much on the volume factor of this mascara but it does give a really nice effect, and I would say its a perfect day time mascara.

Currently on offer in Superdrug, buy one get the 2nd half price.

Have you tried this new mascara? If so what do you think?
