Christmas With Clarins/Party Make Up

Christmas party season is upon us, and what is already an expensive time of year for many of us I've put this post together to showcase a few staple products that will carry you through the party season.

Clarins have been kind enough to get me party ready using just 3 of the products from their beautiful Ladylike collection*, here's how I created my party look.

These are the gorgeous Ombre Matte Shadow's and I have the shades Nude Beige and Sparkling Grey, as with all Clarins shadows these can be used wet or dry however my look was created using the shades dry as I didnt want my look to be too intense. But I have swatched the shades wet and they look amazing.
Blending over the whole eye socket and up to the brow bone I used the Nude Beige shade to create the perfect base, then taking a soft shadow brush I lightly took the Sparkling Gray shade across my lid crease and then down along my lash line. I adore the Sparkling Gray and my only niggle would be that Nude Beige could use a little sparkle in it.
Then using a dampened angled brush I used the Sparkling Gray to line my lower lashes, and it stayed put all night. The colour pay of is really godd with these shadows and I'm really excited to try the Sparkling Gray with a wet brush, I think it may give a really foiled effect.
The Rouge Eclat lipstick feels lovely on the lips, the deep berry red shade of Red Fuschia will be my go to red this year, I LOVE it.

Here's my complete party look.....

Head over to the Clarins Website now to rab your beauty essentials, hurry they are giving away a fab free gift when you spend over £60 too.

My Festive Lip Picks/Red To Suit Everyone

I love a red lip, very bold and a real statement on the lips, some of you aren't as brave to wear this colour throughout the year but you need no excuses to shy away from it over the festive season.

These are my top 4 lip picks ranging from high gloss to matte there's something to suit everyone. The lipsticks are listed in order from the picture above, from left to right.

The first lipstick is:
A glossy bright red shade, this one is perfect for the festive season, it stays put for 4 hours without the need for reapplication without staining the lips.
Its easy to apply and isn't drying.
The second lipstick is:
This is perfect for those of you who want to wear red but you don't want to go as bold. This one has an orangey undertone to it shot through a pearl effect so it's really effective withiut being too harsh.
Bourjois promises this lasts 10 hours, I have to disagree there, reapplication is essential after around one hour. It didn't stain my lips though which was great and it's brilliant value for money too.
The third lipstick is:
This is one of MAC's best selling shades, it's matte formula isnt for everyone though, and your lips cant be dry if you want to wear it. It tends to drag on the skin applying from the bullet so use a brush to apply it with.
It's got a bluey undertone to it and it stains the lips temporalily.
The fourth lipstick is:
This is a beautiful berry red shade. In true Clarins style its packed with moisturising nutri youth complex it's age defying and stays put. The wear time on this is probably a couple of hours max but your lips dont feel dry and the colour doesnt stain the lips either. It's really comfortable and smells delicious too.
Are you braving red this Christmas?

Clarins/The Essentials Christmas Eye Palette 2014

Clarins The Essentials Eyeshadow Pallete holiday 2014
It's that time of year again, the glitter, the shimmer and sparkle of Christmas. Clarins are among one of the first companies to release their Christmas offerings, and this Essentials Eye Palette certainly wont disappoint.

They caused a stir with the mineral shadow palette last year and this years offering is even hotter...

The luxurious compact complete with mirror and double ended applicator are all you need for festive cheer on the go, the palette offers a spectrum of wintery goodness, ranging from the paler highlighting shades, the warm browns and bronzes and cooler toned grey shades, and as for that gold sparkle, WOW, I think used wet the gold would look like foil on the lids.
The shadows are a mix of pearl, satin and matte finishes.

I'd like to think I could buy it and give it away, but I know myself too well....
Grab the palette now on the Harrods Website for £35

The 'Shadowbase' that Frontcover have formulated is a fantastic primer, making the pigment shadow's really 'pop' on your lids, as well as grabbing hold of the holographic glitter. Here's how I created my disco ball christmassy eyes....

I simply dotted the Shadowbase across my lid, up to the crease only, and then pressed the 'Darkly' black pigment all over my lid, and topped with some of the gorgeous holographic glitter all over.I finished the look with a fresh base and a bright red lippie, not to mention lashings of mascara.

These pictures are a little blurry on purpose to try and show you the different colours in the glitter!
