Clarins/Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils

They're back!

We know what we love and by popular demand Clarins have brought back these gorgeous Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils & they're here to stay!

The oils were released as part of a previous collection and were only around for a limited time, If your a fan of them already then you'll know why. If you've not treated yourself yet, then get them on your Christmas list, they are a lip essential. The velvet tipped applicator makes applying this oil so easy, and the consistency isn't as you'd expect, it's not runny like oil, or sticky like gloss. To say you cant feel them on the lips wouldn't be an honest review, but they are super hydrating and they just glide onto the lips so easily.

It's so comfortable on the lips and lasts a good few hours without needing a touch up.

The clever people at Clarins have combined their unbeatable facial oils into these lip oils, I'm sure you've also reached out for an oil to re hydrate your skin and the lips are no different.

These will now be a staple in my handbag for daily nourishment.

The oils currently only come in two varieties, 01 Honey which deposits no colour on the lips, just a lovely clear glossy finish, where as the 02 Raspberry shade deposits a hint of colour on the lips, so if you like pink or red tones then opt for this one.
Shop the lip oils via the Clarins website by clicking here at just £18 each they really are a luxury & they'll ensure your lips are perfect for the mistletoe season ;)

Christian Louboutin Lips/More Than Just Make Up

The story started with a stroke of red nail polish over two decades ago, over the years Louboutin has realised his passion for elegance on women's feet, nails and lips.
Following on from the huge success of his first step into the beauty world last year Louboutin has just released his second product to the beauty range.

38 Lip Colours, in three different finishes: Velvet Matte at the far end of the scale, Silky Satin that’s super glossy and an in-between finish of Sheer Voile.

Of course the collection features the iconic red, to ensure your lips nails and soles match perfectly. The classic red's are encased in the iconic black cases and the other colour shades are housed in gold.

In true Louboutin style even the lipstick casing is something of a piece of art, more spike that bullet shaped, and they are each of a different texture depending on the finish of the product. Adorn yourself too as you can wear them as necklaces.....

You’ll want to clear some room in your make up storage or on your dresser, and ensure you have some cash in your bank, at £60 each they are pricey but I cant help but be obsessed with them.

Shop the collection right now over at the Louboutin website and exclusively online at Selfridges, you'll also be able to shop the ranges at Louboutin Boutiques nationwide now!

Clarins/Pretty Day & Pretty Night Autumn 2015 Make Up Collection

I've been holding off on this post, not because these products aren't worthy of a review*, quite the opposite in fact, I just didn't want to accept it's now time to switch our make up to autumnal hues, although after reviewing these beauties I'm actually annoyed I didn't start using them sooner.

So whats the concept behind this years collection from Clarins?

As always Clarins really have gone all out to bring you a collection that can take you from day to night, in just a few products, focusing mostly on the eyes, and designing a capsule collection to take you from office to dinner in just a few luxurious products.
The stars in this collection are the Pretty Day & Pretty Night eye shadow palettes, whilst I haven't been reviewing them I can confirm both are very pretty indeed, the day one gives you all you need to create a soft, warm sophisticated look combining pinks, beige, and some browns.

The Night palette will give you those more sultry darker tones perfect for creating my fave shadow look, the smokey eye!

There have been two new Ombre Matte shadows added, I adore these shadows and what I love the most is that actually your getting two in one in each pot as they can be used dry, but dip your brush into a little water and watch the results intensify, super pigmented and satin soft these are both must haves for the autumn ahead.

The left is the gorgeous Heather and the far left swatch is the dry shadow, the right the wet.
The right hand shot shows the lovely Carbon shadow, I'm already addicted to this it's super blendable and look at the intensity when applied wet too, this would be perfect for lining the eyes.

No look is complete without a good lipcolour right?
For me I don't feel 'finished' until I've applied something on my lips, I am loving both of these shades, new additions to the Rouge Eclat range so your still getting the super moisturizing formula you know and love.

Say hello to Red Paprika & Tawny Rose, gorgeous. I think both shades are really wearable no matter your skin tone, and I'd never have gone for the Red Paprika but actually I adore it.
To complete this collection there are two brow pencils and two kohl liners, all available now over on the Clarins Website and at counters nationwide.

Although I hate the cold seasons I am very much looking forward to embracing these warm tones.

Which pieces will you be treating yourself to?

Clarins/Instant Concealer

You'll all know my hereditary dark circles are the thing that gets me down the most, and probably the thing I've spent the most money on trying to remedy, through creams or make up.

I have to say after being sent the Clarins Instant Concealer*to review I'm actually really impressed with the results you can achieve with this.

The concealer is a lovely creamy consistency, best applied from the back of your hand with a warm finger. For me the best results depend on the way it's applied, and in my case that means layering! Apply the concealer to the middle of the eye so you don't get too much directly under the eyes, for me this makes the blend out easier. Once I've applied the first layer I move onto the next eye, this allows the first layer to set and I leave it a good 2-3 minutes between layers, for me this avoids pulling off the first layer and allows it time to sink into the skin.
I apply my concealer after my foundation, and I finish my application by setting my concealer with my trusty Ben Nye Banana powder and a dry beauty blender. I'd always advise to skip powder if you have fine lines around your eyes as it can enhance the crepeyness of the delicate skin.
This is a must have in my opinion, staying power is all day and it gives a lovely cooling feeling on application, even popping it in the fridge can help reduce puffiness if this is something you suffer with.

This is in the shade 01 although there are 4 different colours to choose from so definitely head into your local Clarins counter to get perfectly matched.

Head over to the Clarins Website to shop now, priced at £21.50 for 15ml this will last you forever. If you've been on the hunt for your perfect concealer you need to give this one a go!

Clarins/Beauty Flash Eye Revive

I'm always on the quest for the ultimate eye cream, I am so paranoid about my dark circles although I've almost come to accept they must be genetic so I don't think I'll ever get rid of them :( I drink so much water, don't smoke, get enough sleep etc so I really do all I can to help prevent them.

I've been using this cream by Clarins over the last 6 weeks in the hope that it'll make a difference, and although it won't banish my stubborn dark circles it's definitely improved them.

This lovely thick yet easily absorbed cream has a gentle rose scent and once patted around the eyes it gives a lovely lifted and slightly tightened feeling. There's no stinging feeling like some lifting and tightening creams and this does feel truly gentle on the eyes.

You'll see in the top shot before I started using the cream I had small purple/blue veins along my lower lid and very purple/blue circles, in the bottom shot you'll see those small veins are gone and the darkness has lightened.
I find my make up applies much more smoothly and doesn't sit in any fine lines or creases.

Retails at £29 per tube and will last forever as a little goes a long way, I apply mine morning and night. Head over to the Clarins Website to pick up yours now.

Jo Malone/Lace Bottle Collection

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Jo Malone, and as a newly engaged lady these do excite me, what a lovely idea for a wedding gift or for the upcoming summer weddings.

I will be wearing Jo Malone on my wedding day that's for sure, timeless and elegant and of course quintessentially British.
These beautiful lace design bottles launch in May this year and there are three different lace designs to choose from and the workmanship that goes in to them makes them a real piece of art, as all the detail is hand etched into the glass.

This collection will offer 10 of the brands best selling fragrances:

English Pear & Freesia, Lime Basil & Mandarin, Nectarine Blossom & Honey, Wild Bluebell, Pomegranate Noir, Velvet Rose & Oud and Dark Amber & Ginger Lily, Peony & Suede Blush, Orange Blossom, Red Roses.

At £86/100ml It's quite a splurge but if it's a gift or for your big day then it's something you could keep forever even when the perfume has gone, and how nice would the Wild Bluebell be for a bride's something blue?

YSL/Baby Doll Mascara

Ysl's Baby Doll Mascara, or Effet Faux Cils Baby Doll as it's known in the MUA world has been gracing the shelves for almost 12 months now and I've been a bit late in trying this one.
Having used all my other mascara's up and ditching the lash extensions I decided to treat myself to this, at £24.50 it is pricey for a mascara but YSL is a higher end beauty brand and you pay for what you get, having never tested it before I guess it could have been a costly experiment, although I'm pleased to report this was not a waste of money.

Although it doesn't really add a huge deal of thickness to the lashes it is lengthening and not clumpy, you'll see below my bare lashes in the top shot and my lashes with one coat of Baby Doll applied on the bottom picture.
I love the packaging it is the classic gold casing, you'll recognise this from other cult YSL products such as Touche Eclat, and it has Baby Doll written across the tube in a bright pink style lettering, it's really eye catching and looks great on any girls dresser.

I've taken some side on shots of my lashes so you can see the effect of the mascara, on these following pictures I've used 2 coats of Baby Doll.
Overall I'm really impressed with this mascara and as always its really important not to pump the air into the tube when using it as I don't think this will take long to dry out so be as careful as you can when using it. I would definitely repurchase this so I'll be hunting it down at duty free when i go on holiday later this year.

I purchased shade 01 which is  Black, although it also comes in Brown, Blue and Purple,
You'll find it at YSL counters nationwide.

Are you a Baby Doll lover?

Clarins Opalescence Spring Collection/Vibrant Light Eye Quartet

If you are looking for an eyeshadow palette that'll provide you with an array of this seasons on trend shades (pastel, silver, orchid, grey) then look no further than Clarins Vibrant Light*, a quad of four beautiful shades, designed to compliment each other, and they can be taken from day to night with the wet/dry formulation, the darker shades and the precision tipped applicator are the perfect eye liner combo.
Clarins always make their products look luxurious, a well known brand that adorns the bathroom shelves and make up bags of women worldwide.
The gold casing on this palette is no exception, housing the shadows and the applicators inside it's perfect for on the go beauty, especially with it's in lid mirror.
The velvet pouch adds to the real luxury feel of the product, as does the name 'Eye Quartet'

Clarins Opalescence Spring 2014 Eye Quartet Mineral Palette 12 Vibrant Light
Personally I dont think the shadows have much colour pay off when used dry, however the effect when applied wet is beautiful, it really allows the pigements in the shadows to come through.
Check out the swatches.....

Left is the baby pink shade, it looks almost matte in the palette but it has mild pigmentation and a slight shimmer, it would work well as a highlighter around the eye and under the brow.
2nd shadow from the left is my fave a little disco ball of silver glitter which looks really sparkly and gets even sparklier when wet, would make a fab lash line liner for added wow, perfect for special occasions.
3rd along is the deep purple orchid shade, you can use this one to smoke out, and also as a darker but not black eye liner around the lash lines, really great effect from this one, and perfect for spring.
Right shade is the gunmetal grey, you could also use this to line, however if your planning on doing a smokey eye then this would go well in the crease.

Shop now on the Clarins Website this quartet of gorgeousness can be yours for £31.00.

This palette is limited edition so be sure to grab it quickly, lauched this month as part of the Clarins Opalescence Collection, check out the entire range right here
