Clarins/Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils

They're back!

We know what we love and by popular demand Clarins have brought back these gorgeous Instant Light Lip Comfort Oils & they're here to stay!

The oils were released as part of a previous collection and were only around for a limited time, If your a fan of them already then you'll know why. If you've not treated yourself yet, then get them on your Christmas list, they are a lip essential. The velvet tipped applicator makes applying this oil so easy, and the consistency isn't as you'd expect, it's not runny like oil, or sticky like gloss. To say you cant feel them on the lips wouldn't be an honest review, but they are super hydrating and they just glide onto the lips so easily.

It's so comfortable on the lips and lasts a good few hours without needing a touch up.

The clever people at Clarins have combined their unbeatable facial oils into these lip oils, I'm sure you've also reached out for an oil to re hydrate your skin and the lips are no different.

These will now be a staple in my handbag for daily nourishment.

The oils currently only come in two varieties, 01 Honey which deposits no colour on the lips, just a lovely clear glossy finish, where as the 02 Raspberry shade deposits a hint of colour on the lips, so if you like pink or red tones then opt for this one.
Shop the lip oils via the Clarins website by clicking here at just £18 each they really are a luxury & they'll ensure your lips are perfect for the mistletoe season ;)

Clarins/Pretty Day & Pretty Night Autumn 2015 Make Up Collection

I've been holding off on this post, not because these products aren't worthy of a review*, quite the opposite in fact, I just didn't want to accept it's now time to switch our make up to autumnal hues, although after reviewing these beauties I'm actually annoyed I didn't start using them sooner.

So whats the concept behind this years collection from Clarins?

As always Clarins really have gone all out to bring you a collection that can take you from day to night, in just a few products, focusing mostly on the eyes, and designing a capsule collection to take you from office to dinner in just a few luxurious products.
The stars in this collection are the Pretty Day & Pretty Night eye shadow palettes, whilst I haven't been reviewing them I can confirm both are very pretty indeed, the day one gives you all you need to create a soft, warm sophisticated look combining pinks, beige, and some browns.

The Night palette will give you those more sultry darker tones perfect for creating my fave shadow look, the smokey eye!

There have been two new Ombre Matte shadows added, I adore these shadows and what I love the most is that actually your getting two in one in each pot as they can be used dry, but dip your brush into a little water and watch the results intensify, super pigmented and satin soft these are both must haves for the autumn ahead.

The left is the gorgeous Heather and the far left swatch is the dry shadow, the right the wet.
The right hand shot shows the lovely Carbon shadow, I'm already addicted to this it's super blendable and look at the intensity when applied wet too, this would be perfect for lining the eyes.

No look is complete without a good lipcolour right?
For me I don't feel 'finished' until I've applied something on my lips, I am loving both of these shades, new additions to the Rouge Eclat range so your still getting the super moisturizing formula you know and love.

Say hello to Red Paprika & Tawny Rose, gorgeous. I think both shades are really wearable no matter your skin tone, and I'd never have gone for the Red Paprika but actually I adore it.
To complete this collection there are two brow pencils and two kohl liners, all available now over on the Clarins Website and at counters nationwide.

Although I hate the cold seasons I am very much looking forward to embracing these warm tones.

Which pieces will you be treating yourself to?

Clarins/Instant Concealer

You'll all know my hereditary dark circles are the thing that gets me down the most, and probably the thing I've spent the most money on trying to remedy, through creams or make up.

I have to say after being sent the Clarins Instant Concealer*to review I'm actually really impressed with the results you can achieve with this.

The concealer is a lovely creamy consistency, best applied from the back of your hand with a warm finger. For me the best results depend on the way it's applied, and in my case that means layering! Apply the concealer to the middle of the eye so you don't get too much directly under the eyes, for me this makes the blend out easier. Once I've applied the first layer I move onto the next eye, this allows the first layer to set and I leave it a good 2-3 minutes between layers, for me this avoids pulling off the first layer and allows it time to sink into the skin.
I apply my concealer after my foundation, and I finish my application by setting my concealer with my trusty Ben Nye Banana powder and a dry beauty blender. I'd always advise to skip powder if you have fine lines around your eyes as it can enhance the crepeyness of the delicate skin.
This is a must have in my opinion, staying power is all day and it gives a lovely cooling feeling on application, even popping it in the fridge can help reduce puffiness if this is something you suffer with.

This is in the shade 01 although there are 4 different colours to choose from so definitely head into your local Clarins counter to get perfectly matched.

Head over to the Clarins Website to shop now, priced at £21.50 for 15ml this will last you forever. If you've been on the hunt for your perfect concealer you need to give this one a go!

Clarins/Beauty Flash Eye Revive

I'm always on the quest for the ultimate eye cream, I am so paranoid about my dark circles although I've almost come to accept they must be genetic so I don't think I'll ever get rid of them :( I drink so much water, don't smoke, get enough sleep etc so I really do all I can to help prevent them.

I've been using this cream by Clarins over the last 6 weeks in the hope that it'll make a difference, and although it won't banish my stubborn dark circles it's definitely improved them.

This lovely thick yet easily absorbed cream has a gentle rose scent and once patted around the eyes it gives a lovely lifted and slightly tightened feeling. There's no stinging feeling like some lifting and tightening creams and this does feel truly gentle on the eyes.

You'll see in the top shot before I started using the cream I had small purple/blue veins along my lower lid and very purple/blue circles, in the bottom shot you'll see those small veins are gone and the darkness has lightened.
I find my make up applies much more smoothly and doesn't sit in any fine lines or creases.

Retails at £29 per tube and will last forever as a little goes a long way, I apply mine morning and night. Head over to the Clarins Website to pick up yours now.

Clarins/Aquatic Treasures Summer Collection 2015

Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Collection* is this years beautiful summer range from Clarins, I always get so excited with the release and this one hasn't disappointed me.

The Aquatic Treasures encapsulates the ocean and it's beauty, the collection offers rich gold and bronze tones, to replicate the golden sands. Iridescent shades as the pearls of the ocean and a splash of glimmering grey to represent the ocean sparkling in the sunlight. I love how all these textures and colours come together to give you a warm healthy and glowing summer complexion.

I've been enjoying a few products from the range, lets start with the
After Sun Shimmer Oil £32
A beautiful lightweight shimmering oil that melts into the skin, this is packed with tiny golden flecks that sit beautifully on the skin and enhance your golden glow without any heavy oily texture.

You can also smooth this through your hair so It's a real all rounder, and a must have for your holiday packing this summer.

It's a very clever product this one, as its packed with Vitamin E & Hazelnut Oil to add some well needed moisture back into your skin following sun exposure, yet the shimmering oil enhances your tan, this can be used all over the body. It oozes summer with the notes of Mandarin, Grapefruit, Tonka Bean, and Ylang Ylang.

As you'd expect it's packaged in a lovely glass bottle, with a screw lid and the top has a dropper in it, which is great as I've had so many incidents with too much oil coming out in one go in products I've had before.

Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base* £26
Perfect for the summer months, I think we all like to reach for the lighter less coverage products at this time of year and the complexion base which is available in 2 shades will allow you to do just that.

The tube has a pump dispenser and as you'll see from this picture of pump is more than enough to cover your whole face.
You can wear it alone or mixed with your regular foundation to give your complexion a boost and help to blur imperfections. It's available in Apricot which gives a nice dewy finish or Golden Bronze for the ultimate summer skin.

It's packed with Clarins Anti Pollution Complex to help protect the skin all day. I like this as a base. make up sits really well on top of it and lasts all day long.

Aquatic Treasures Limited Edition Bronzing Compact* £30
Is the showstopper of this range in my opinion, it features a beautiful marine inspired motif that's actually embossed into the powder. The compact boasts 4 shades, from beige to terracotta and they are all matte (yey) so many bronzers are sparkly and shiny so I love a palette that's matte.

Clarins always do such a good job of making their make up suitable for all skin types and this will compliment anyone.

Fix Make Up* £22
Is a must have for the summer, I love keeping mine in the fridge for a cold spritz it's lovely. This is infused with rose which gives it a delicate floral smell, the grapefruit and vitamin c both help keep the skin soft and moisturised whilst ensuring your make up stays in place all day. I recently ran a half marathon with this over my BB cream and I'm pleased to report it kept everything in place.

The summer collection also offers some beautiful additions to their Ombre Shadow Collection, and these are on my wish list, as well as waterproof mascara & liner, this collection is your Summer make up bag so head to your local Clarins counter nationwide, or head over to Clarins Website this collection launches next month.

Clarins/Radiance Plus Golden Glow Body Booster

Clarins Radiance Plus Golden Glow Body Booster* for 365 days of summer skin, is the perfect way of simply boosting your regular moisturiser with a custom amount of tan.

If you haven't seen these revolutionary products yet, you've been missing out, Clarins completely changed the world of tanning with the launch of the facial tan version which I reviewed last year, and now with the body one sat alongside it you may never apply your faux glow in the same way again. These will both be cult products I'm sure.

What truly sets these products apart from regular tanners is the fact that they are packed with aloe vera goodness, meaning they care for your skin and pack them with moisture when you apply them, plus the added benefits of combining with your regular skincare means your still caring for your skin as normal.

As the name suggests the product will give you a lovely glow rather than a full on change in colour that you'd get from a tanning product, it's gradual, customised exactly how you want it, and you can just reduce the amount of drops mixed in to your body moisturiser to maintain the shade once you've acheived it.

I have very sensitive skin and I break out unless I stick to the same products so putting regular self tan on my face is a no no! The facial tanner added into my regular moisturiser did nothing other than add a lovely healthy glow when I woke up, it's beauty sleep in a bottle.

Safe to say the body version is just as gentle and hasn't affected my skin or made me have any breakouts anywhere, I've been mixing 5 drops in with my Clarins Extra Firming Body Lotion, so I'm getting tanned & toned at the same time. Genius.

The Radiance Plus Golden Glow Body Booster is presented in a sleek and classy looking dropper bottle, it has a soft rubber end which you simply depress to dispense the product into your hand where you mix it up with your regular moisturiser. The screw lid means it wont leak out and it travels really well, I took my face one on holiday last year and it held up just fine in my suitcase.

Head over to the Clarins Website
to pick yours up now, it retails at £26.00 for a 30ml bottle.

Clarins/No Body's Perfect Campaign

Clarins latest campaign is one I am loving, being a woman in today's society comes with so much added pressure, what ever happened to just loving the skin your in?

Clarins 'No Body's Perfect' campaign is encouraging us all to 'Love The Body You Have' whilst we all have our body hang ups and flaws why not try focusing on the bits you like, you are all beautiful and more often that not it's the negativity and our bad attitudes towards ourselves that only amplify the bits we loathe.

We spend time caring for our faces with a skincare regime, but why do we forget our bodies?

Everybody's different, or rather Every Body is different and Clarins want to remind us all that it's OK not to be perfect. Gym Bunnies, busy Mum's, the workaholics, all of you can spare yourself 5 minutes a day to pamper and indulge, and with the fabulous range of body concern products that Clarins have to offer you may even feel that it's 5 minutes well spent if you are targeting one of your body hang up's. In a way that only Clarins can they mange to blend cutting edge science with the most luxurious skincare products, you will feel the luxury when you use them.
Cellulite? Ageing? Dry Skin? Loose Skin?

Exfoliating Body Scrub, Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate, Renew Plus Body Serum, Extra Firming Body Lotion & Body Lift Cellulite Control. Prices start from just £19.

Those of you who've followed my weight loss journey will have seen my 4 stone weight loss, as I've done it gradually and gone to the gym I've managed to avoid any loose skin, but I still have area's that I would love to be firmer especially with all the working out I do, even I get a little disheartened when things aren't as toned or tight as I'd like them to be.

I'm currently reviewing the Extra Firming Body Lotion £41* which is perfect for tightening and toning, and actually encourages the production of Emillin-1, which actually makes the collagen and elastic fibres link together in the skin. Genius. The smell is really nice, a slight fruity hint and the cream is lovely and thick, yet it melts in beautifully.

I am going to give this a go for 4 weeks and see if it combats my body hang up, I'll be sure to come back here and give you an update.

Valentines Make Up/Full Product List & Dinner Details

I had a fantastic night out with the Mr on Saturday, I have had so many questions on my make up from the night, so here is my full product list, I used a lot of Clarins products, such gorgeous make up.
Base/Foundation:
Clarins Smooth Instant Primer was mixed into the new Clarins Everlasting + Foundation, and what a beautiful combo these are together, super flawless and no shine, all night.

Concealer/Highlighter:
Nars Creamy Concealer mixed into YSL Touche Eclat for concealing and highlighting in one swoop.I set my under eye make up with Borjois Java Rice Powder.

Contouring/Blush:
Sleek Face Form Contouring Palette was used along with the Clarins Blush Prodige from their new spring collection. High Beam by Benefit was used on the inner eyes and the brow bones to highlight and lift.

Eye Shadow/Mascara:
Lids were primed with Bare Minerals Prime Time, Then I applied Clarins Ombre Matt shadows in Nude Beige & Space Grey to create a lighter smoke on the eyes, taking these shadows under the eyes also give a great effect.I then took the Master Smoky pencil along the lash line and blended it out.
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara was used on my lower lashes, and I applied the Sam Faiers lashes to complete the look.

Lips:
MAC In Sync Lip Liner pencil with Flamingo applied over the top.

We went for a lovely meal at the Treby Arms here in Devon, It's a gastropub offering fine dining and is owned and run by the winner of Master chef Anton Piotrowski . His reputation certainly didn't disappoint on the night and we had a lovely meal.

I had to start Truffle Brie, which was served in a trowel! It was a real sensory treat as it looked like soil and had micro veg hidden away inside, it was delicious if a little strange.
My main was red pepper and feta cheese wrapped in a south african pastry with a butternut squash puree, really tasty and probably one of the best veggie dishes I've ever tried. The Parmesan crisps were a lovely addition too.
My desert was chocolate mousse and pistachio ice cream, again divine.
The Mr had some lovely dishes too, to start fois gras with fried ox tongue and quails eggs, his main was fillet steak with bacon and potato bites, and a side of the famous triple cooked chips, for desert he had the sticky toffee pudding which was delicious.
If you've never been to the Treby then I'd highly recommend it, there is always a very long waiting list but you'll understand why when you eat.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Clarins/Everlasting Foundation +

Clarins are adding to their well loved range of foundations, as you'll know I've been loyal to my Double Wear for about 5 years and find it hard to get along with any other brand, whilst my skin isn't dry it is oily and means products with oil or light reflecting particles only seem to emphasise my shine.

I tried out Clarins True Radiance Foundation last year however due to the 'dewy' light finish it gave it just didn't suit my oily skin, Everlasting +* however has proved to be a great match, so if your oily skinned like me all is not lost! This is a new and improved formula based on the Everlasting Foundation, the + being the longer hold and the added benefit of an 18 hour wear time, as apposed to 15 hours like before.

This stuff is very clever, it contains a High Fidelity System which is an invisible film of micro silicones, this new generation of silicones are designed to bond with the skins own film and combined they deliver a matte finish and the all day wear. pretty impressive hey!

The high fidelity system also ensures that the pigments are dispensed evenly across the skin, if you suffer from redness or blotches then this will help ensure perfectly even and smooth coverage, all day. This combats all manner of skin concerns so achieving that totally flawless base is possible no matter what your skin hang up may be.

This stuff stays true to colour and will look exactly as it did when you applied it in the morning when you come to remove it at night, it wont slip, flake, transfer to clothes or dry up on your skin. It's really very comfortable to wear.I'd advise applying moisturiser before application, or a primer if you suffer with dry patches. Application with a brush is a must too!

The pump makes dispensing the product so easy, and keeps things hygienic too. One pump is enough to provide medium coverage, but this is buildable depending on the look you want to create. And it has the most delicious fruity smell that I love about Clarins products.
Everlasting Foundation + is just as you'd expect from Clarins, packaged beautifully, the frosted weight glass bottle is on display on my dressing table.

There will be 10 shades on offer when this hits Clarins counters nationwide on the 15th of February and it's going to be a 30ml for £27.50. I have reviewed shade 108 Sand here and It's my perfect match.

Keep your eyes peeled this weekend as I'll be creating a Valentines look using everything Clarins!
